One of the very first Spanish songs I ever loved

This song takes me right back.

Un año sin lluvia was one of the first Spanish songs I ever heard and watched the video of. Like many people, I heard the English version first, A Year Without Rain. And only later did I discover that Selena had recorded a full Spanish version with her band at the time, Selena Gomez & The Scene.

For someone just starting out with Spanish, this song is almost perfect:

• slow, clear pronunciation
• simple sentence structure
• very visual metaphors
• repetition that helps meaning stick
