Don’t think this song needs an introduction.

As such, it’s one of those songs that you’ve definitely heard somewhere, at least a part of it, but wasn’t really sure of the song name OR artist OR literally anything else. Maybe that’s the definition of an Instagram / TikTok viral reel song. But I think this song came in before reels were invented [not sure about TikTok].

A quick Google showed that TikTok launched around 2016, and really caught on in 2018. So maybe songs like Mi Gente helped catapult this 15-to-30-second status fame of the app, and eventually of short-form media in general.

Who am I to speak, though? The song is catchy, for all the gobbledygook I can say.
