CNCO – Reggaetón Lento (Bailemos) [Spanish to English translation]

¡Hola!

Fun speaking Spanish, isn’t it?

Let’s go today with a boy band [oops, ex-boy band] CNCO, with that one token superhit song, its English mashup with a complementary popular music name [in this case, the girl band Little Mix], and eventual departure starting with one popular member [also looking at Zayn Malik 👀].

Reggaetón lento [Slow reggaeton] is a fun, peppy number that makes you want to, well, reggaeton. Let’s not waste any more tie and let’s goooo!

Lyrics

Qué bien se ve
How good does she look!
Me trae loco su figura
Her figure makes me crazy

–Me traer loco – something makes me crazy
Ese trajecito corto le queda bien
That short suit suits her so well

— Se quedar bien – to suit someone well
Combinado con su lipstick color café
Combined with her coffee-coloured lipstick

Qué bien se ve
How good does she look!
Me hipnotiza su cintura
Her waist hypnotises me
When she dances until the gods want to see her
Ya no perderé más tiempo, me acercaré
I will not waste any more time, I will approach her/get closer

[Yo sólo la miré y me gustó
I only looked at her and I liked her
Me pegué y la invité: “Bailemos, eh?”
I hit on her and I invited her: Let’s dance, eh?
La noche está para un reggaetón lento
The night is for a slow reggaeton
Of which there haven’t been many dances for a while
— Hace tiempo: since a while] X2

Permíteme bailar contigo esta pieza
Allow me to dance this piece with you
Between all the women, your beauty stands out
–resaltar: to highlight, resaltarse: to stand out
Me encanta tu firmeza, te mueves con destreza
I love your firmness, you move with skill
Muévete, muévete, muévete
You move, you move, you move

Muy rica, latina, estás llena de vida
Very rich, Latina, you are full of life
Sube las dos manos, dale pa’ arriba
Raise both hands, give it up
Where are the singles and the non-singles, too?
Sin miedo muévete, muévete, muévete
Without fear you move, you move, you move

[Yo sólo la miré y me gustó
I only looked at her and I liked her
Me pegué y la invité: “Bailemos, eh?”
I hit on her and I invited her: Let’s dance, eh?
La noche está para un reggaetón lento
The night is for a slow reggaeton
Of which there haven’t been many dances for a while] X2

Baila conmigo
Dance with me
La noche está para un reggaetón lento
The night is for a slow reggaeton
Of which there haven’t been many dances for a while

I know you like it when I take you to the floor
I know you like this reggaetón lento
This ain’t stoppin’ baby ’til I say so
Come get come get some more

Es imposible atrasar las horas
It is impossible to slow down the time
— atrasar: to delay, to slow down, to set back
Cada minuto contigo es un sueño
Every minute with you is a dream
Quisiera ser su confidente
I hope to be your confidant

Why don’t you dare and we do it right now
No te pongas tímida
Don’t be shy
Estamos tú y yo a solas
It is only you and me

[Yo sólo la miré y me gustó
I only looked at her and I liked her
Me pegué y la invité: “Bailemos, eh?”
I hit on her and I invited her: Let’s dance, eh?
La noche está para un reggaetón lento
The night is for a slow reggaeton
Of which there haven’t been many dances for a while] X4

[Muévete, muévete
You move, you move
Báilalo, báilalo
Dance it, dance it
La noche está para un reggaetón lento
The night is for a slow reggaeton
Of which there haven’t been many dances for a while] X2

¿Que quiénes somos?
Who are we?
¡CNCO!

Qué bien se ve
How good does she look!
Me trae loco su figura
Her figure makes me crazy

Ese trajecito corto le queda bien
That short suit suits her so well

Combinado con su lipstick color café
Combined with her coffee-coloured lipstick
Qué bien se ve
How good does she look!
